How pickleball impacts my personal relationships: A response from Doug
Recently we posted a question to some of our eNewsletter fans: How has your love of pickleball impacted your personal relationships? The answers we got were wonderful and we’ve decided to post some of them this month – with permission of course.
Here is a response from Doug
Everyone on a pickleball court is socially equal at least most of the time. Experience wise equipment wise ability wise maybe not but socially equal. Rewarding to see people having fun, ignoring there various physical conditions yelling and laughing as there game improves and they make amazing shots. I see people including myself plan holidays and trips south just to play pickleball. This game is a very reasonably priced form of entertainment so it includes a broader range of people you come in contact with and interact with.
Most of your questions above are very intuitive:
Is there balance between pickleball and your personal life… No
Do you find yourself talking pickleball all the time… Yes
Have you developed a way of explaining pickleball to everyone… Yes
Is it a secret society you believe everyone should join… Yes
Does it affect your personal relationships everyday… Yes
